We have decided to adopt a dog. Here she is! Beautiful Pomeranian who is about 1 1/2 years old. She doesn't bark or cause any problems. She is already house trained! She is absolutely perfect!! We decided to name her "Spicy" because she is the color of spices and she has a lot of "perk." She just loves to cuddle and be with you.

Baby pictures!!
We went to the doctor today and found out some very exciting news! We are going to be having a baby boy!! We were thrilled to find out and Scott is a beaming dad-to-be. The baby now weighs about 1 pound 6 ounces with a heart beat of 160 beats per minute. We wanted to share the exciting news and show some pictures of the ultrasound.
This picture is of our baby boy's head. It was 21 cm in diameter. What a cute little crown!
This is the spine! Isn't it cute?!
This is a picture of the spine and heartbeat. The head is to the left side of the picture. You can't see it too well, but it's there. The spine was really neat to see! The heart is at the point where the two lines parallel each other. It was amazing to see his heart beat!
This is my favorite picture! We can see almost all of our baby! On the left is his shoulder and arm bones. Then you can see his ribs in the middle of the picture. To the right of that is his very distinctive femar and his cute little bum! Then his calf portion part of his leg wraps back around and you can see his feet by his bum. He kind of looks like he is crawling but his hand was up to his ear because of the sound the ultrasound makes. I guess the sound bothered him. It was so cute!
Yep! He's a boy! That arrow points to his manhood. This picture is as if he were sitting on the camera so you can also see his cute little bum.
Yep, he's still a boy!
This picture is the middle of his belly. I guess they measure how big the baby is by measuring the middle of the stomach. It was 19 cm-ish which comes out to be a baby boy weighing at 1 pound 6 ounces!
We are so excited about our baby boy! We just can't wait to see him in person. He is quite active, constantly kicking mom in the bladder! :)

This is my birthday party!
This is the best cake ever...Snickers cake!! With twenty-two candles!
This is me with my birthday cake!
This is the beautiful bouquet Scott got me. It's stunning!
This is my first baby hat that I have ever made. Ok, actually it's the first hat that I have made ever! It's not perfect, but I think it's cute.

This was a surprising morning for the city of Carlsbad. They actually cancelled school! And our neighbor refused to drive in the "terrible weather" even though there was no snow on the roads and it melted by that afternoon.
This was the next day after the first snow. It melted the day before then snowed all night and this is what we woke up to. Not a big deal for Idaho, but for Carlsbad this is a huge deal. Our heater didn't work because it froze, many stores and houses had their pipes freeze and the building where Scott works actually had the roof cave in! What I learned from this experience is that Carlsbad doesn't build buildings and homes for this kind of weather. What a day!

Update!
Well! I have pictures and I will post them up here, I promise. Just not this post :)
Scott has been loving his job as a deputy! He gets to shoot guns, drive like a crazy man, and dress up in a great-looking outfit!
This last week he was doing some defensive tactics training and ended up hurting himself. He tore some cartilage and muscle on his right side. Now I get to drive him to and from work while he is no longer in pain due to some pretty serious pain killers. He is healing well, but not as fast as Scott wants.
We have had some fun little experiences at home. I found my very first cockroach and I have been told that bugs will be a major part of my life now. Ugh. I hate bugs!
We also had record breaking temperatures here in Carlsbad! It snowed about six inches and the temperatures went to below freezing here. Not a big deal in Idaho, but here in New Mexico life shuts down. No one was open for business and we went to do some grocery shopping and the pipes were frozen in the store! No one has shovels here and our neighbor refused to drive in the "snow" (even though at that point there was literally a skiff of snow that you could blow on to remove). What a different life here!
We are having a good time in New Mexico, otherwise. Different life, but very fun. We miss Idaho sometimes, but are grateful that our low is only two degrees instead of thirty five below :)

Hello 2011!
After about 24 hours of driving and lots of fast food, Scott and I have finally made it to New Mexico! We are excited about our new adventures here and are looking forward to starting a new life. As I started this blog I thought about what it's purpose was to be. I think that I want it to tell about our life here as most people who know us are in Idaho or Utah and can't see what we experience. The best way for me to show about our life is through pictures and writing, so here I am!
I am so grateful to both of our families for their help and support with us and coming down here. We couldn't have done it without them.
I took pictures of our apartment and wanted to share them with you. So here we go!
This is a layout of what the apartment looks like. I tried to mark where things were so in the pictures you can make a mental map in your head.
This is our dining room! It's so pretty!
This is looking from the dining room into the kitchen...Yeah, we have a bar. :)
This is from the front door area looking down the hallway. The living room is on the right and the kitchen is on the left.

This is our living room! I LOVE the window!
This is our kitchen with a brandnew stainless steel fridge! Yay!
We have a dishwasher! And a gas stove!
This is our bathroom.
Here is the baby/office/storage room! And you can see our crib in the corner. I can't wait to get that set up!
Here is our master bedroom. It's not quite "masterfull" but I love it!
This is the courtyard of our apartment. BBQ's are pretty frequent down here because the weather is nice almost all the time.
Here is our pool!! I can't wait to utilize this in the summer!
We say goodbye to 2010 with a grateful heart. Many exciting things happened during 2010 including graduation for me, Scott getting a job in New Mexico as a deputy, and the expecting of a baby! We now look forward to 2011 with excitment! We are excited to start our new life here in Carlsbad!
